1.  Login extended to build 59 users

Build 60 users have been able to login over the web to check their stats or change their information for a long time. But the people still using build 59 never got to experience this. In addition to a new script parsing algorithm that will let you use your build 59 usernames in Metasquarer build 60, you can logon to them on metasquares.com as well. To log on with a build 59 username, enter your username and a blank password on the log on form. It is recommended that you create a password by using the "change password" form. Chaning your password will not affect your build 59 Metasquarer account in any way.

3. NEWS FLASH!: Peek is working!

Metasquarer build 60 users rejoice - a new version of build 60 has been uploaded to the server that allows you to peek. While this system is still not 100% accurate, it surpasses the one shown in Build 59. The first peek will work just as well as any other now, and you can peek in the middle of a game and get a much better view of the game, mostly perfect. You have to download the new version of build 60 first, though. You can get it at http://www.metasquares.com/msquarer/download.shtml, or the download link at metasquares.com

Metasquares.com and Metasquarer have a new partner: Curt Wallach. Originally creating the template for about 80% of the new site's design, Curt is an excellent artist and has a lot of ideas for Metasquarer as well, such as making the messages look like the old Metasquares messages used to.

Just when you thought 6.0 was the biggest thing to hit Metasquarer, we're improving it even more for version 6.5! Version 6.5 may not be out for a while, but these are a few ideas we have to implement in it:





DP - Dynamic Protocol - This will allow Metasquarer to grab protocol information from the Metasquares.com SSL and FLAP encrypted server. This will allow updates from the server to the protocol, eliminating the need to download a new install file when a protocol update is released.





A new interface - With the help of Curt, Metasquarer is going to look better than ever! We're planning on making the message boxes look like the original Metasquares message boxes, as well as extending skinning to the whole program. We're also adding an animation to the main screen, much like the origianl, and we plan to have animated web content displayed as well, such as a tutorial created in Flash.





A plugin engine with many more options, supporing virtually any plugin that you could imagine.





A chess-style rating system in addition to the current one. When you right click a user's name, it will display both the Metasquarer rating, and the equivalent rating had the game used the same rating system as chess.
